演讲大纲:

Diffusion MRI (dMRI) enables the non-invasive acquisition of in vivo image data for probing microstructural features and connections of white matter fibres in the brain. Fixel-based analysis or FBA is an emerging analysis framework that can provide quantitative metrics (e.g., fibre density) specific to individual fibre bundles within a voxel from dMRI data. It has been shown to increase the specificity, sensitivity, and interpretability over voxel-averaged measures obtained in the conventional voxel-based morphometry approach. This presentation will cover the main concept and methods of FBA, with a demonstration of its potential in clinical neuroscience research via a range of studies.

 

讲者简介:

Dr. Chun-Hung Yeh is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute for Radiological Research, Chang Gung University. He received two PhD degrees  one in Biomedical Imaging and Radiological Sciences from National Yang Ming University; one in Physics from the University of Paris-Sud 11 in France, where he spent three years at the CEA NeuroSpin Centre. He worked at the Institute of Neuroscience, National Yang Ming University and then at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, University of Melbourne, both as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He joined his current appointment at Chang Gung University in 2020. Dr. Yeh is an MRI physicist and imaging scientist, with a long-standing interest in the application of novel MRI method developments to significant clinical and neuroscience problems. He has specialized skills in quantitative brain connectivity and microstructure imaging using diffusion MRI, and is actively continuing to innovate and contribute within this area. His primary research focus is the development of advanced techniques to quantify, visualize, and validate white matter fibre densities and connections throughout the brain.
